As the Nadine and Robert A. Skotheim Director of Education for the Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens, Catherine Allgor is in charge of all education and volunteer programs at The Huntington Library. Previously she was Professor of History at UC Riverside and maintains a position there as a Distinguished Fellow. Catherine received her Ph.D. from Yale University in 1998, specializing in early America, political women, and public history. Her dissertation on women and politics in early Washington garnered the George Washington Egleston Prize for the best dissertation in American History at Yale University and the Lerner-Scott Prize for the best dissertation in U.S. Women's History in the country. She’s authored several books and been widely recognized as an accomplished scholar. President Barack Obama nominated Catherine to serve on the James Madison Memorial Fellowship Foundation.
