Sometimes a charitable effort simply needs the ability to access grants and tax-deductible donations, without the full platform of services offered through our comprehensive fiscal sponsorship program. Which is why Community Partners now provides Limited Fiscal Sponsorship (Model C) as a way to empower a greater variety of innovative approaches to social change.
What it’s right for
- Time-limited projects
- The charitable arm of a for-profit business
- Individuals starting a small project
- When there is a risk involved not suitable for Community Partners
Services & benefits include:
- The ability to receive tax-deductible donations and grants
- Online donation processing
- Training and peer learning opportunities
- Grants management (with government grants handled on a case-by-case basis)
- Access to experienced, knowledgeable staff advisors (with some limits)
How the relationship differs
Limited fiscal sponsorship allows a project to function as a separate, legal entity and establishes a grantor/grantee relationship between the project and Community Partners. It’s a significant difference from the legal structure offered through comprehensive fiscal sponsorship, and makes all tax reporting, insurance and compliance issues the responsibility of the sponsored project.
The administrative fee for limited fiscal sponsorship is 6% on funds received. (Government grants will be accepted on a case-by-case basis.)
