The Future of California Elections (FOCE) is making an impact at the national level. A new report from the President’s Commission on Election Administration recognized the project -- whose members include California election officials, civil rights advocates and civic groups -- as one of a handful of sources of leading-edge work on election issues nationwide. FOCE provided the Commission with recommended best practices and research from its work here in California.
FOCE members’ are continuing to work to improve the voting experience for limited English proficiency voters – including commitments to plain language, better translations and expanding the pool of bilingual pollworkers. Read more about their key goals here.
