Circle of Friends…Changing Lives One Friendship at a Time
Every day, thousands of students with developmental disabilities sit alone at lunch, isolated and ignored by fellow classmates. Through Circle of Friends ~The Path to Inclusion, students with special needs have the opportunity to develop genuine friendships with non-disabled peers. Nationwide, at all grade levels, Circle of Friends (CoF) establishes social inclusion programs within schools that increase the understanding and acceptance of individual differences and decrease bullying. CoF integrates students with disabilities into mainstream campus life and helps to expand the new relationships they have formed into the community at large.
