Cast Your Vote for One of These Projects Vying for LA2050 Grants

Eleven Community Partners projects are currently in the running for $1 million in challenge grants from LA2050. Public voting will help select five of the 10 winners, each of which will receive $100,000. A jury will select the remaining 5.

Below are links to our projects and their innovative proposals. Remember, you can vote once in each of the five goal categories. (Learn more about this initiative of the Goldhirsh Foundation here.)

LEARN

Move LA – prepaid fare-free student transit passes.

Southern California College Access Network – coordinated support to help students not only attend but also graduate from college.

Institute for Non-Violence in Los Angeles – training for student peer mediators.

CREATE

Violence Prevention Coalition of Los Angeles + WriteGirl – arts-based programming for youth in detention settings, via Arts for Incarcerated Youth Network.

CONNECT

Center for Council – social justice reslience and community building through the practice of ‘Council’.

Big Citizen Hub – support to expand this ‘little league’ for civic action, for students in middle and high school.

LIVE

Climate Cents – online platform that facilitates giving to local climate change initiatives.

Maternal Mental Health Now – to improve recognition and response to perinatal moood and anxiety disorders in medical settings in the safety net.

RootDown LA – to help youth in South LA develop their own for-profit healthy food ventures, through their work with RootDown LA.

The Dinner Party – for a community garden designed to serve as a center for healing for those navigating grief.
