The January 7, 2025, fires devastated communities from the Palisades to Altadena, displacing tens of thousands of residents and forcing many to relocate across Los Angeles and even out of state. The widespread impact has left families struggling with housing instability, financial hardship, and emotional distress. Pali Strong Foundation has been at the forefront of recovery efforts since day one, working to unite displaced residents, provide critical resources, and streamline communications. These clear pathways to recovery are vital to keeping residents well-informed, empowered, and connected as they navigate the recovery process.

The foundation enhances disaster mitigation and security by integrating AI and forward-thinking strategies, such as underground power lines, fire-safe zones, advanced water systems, and earthquake and flood preparedness.

Pali Strong Foundation is not only helping to keep the community united and hopeful throughout the rebuilding process, but also informed, having established clear communication channels in online communities, working closely with local, state, and federal agencies to advocate for the best interests of the Palisades community.

Recognizing the critical role of digital communication, they immediately leveraged online social platforms to bridge gaps in information and accessibility. Including

• WhatsApp Groups – Offering real-time updates, direct communication channels, and immediate access to community discussions.
• Mighty Networks Platform – A newly created dedicated online space providing resources, updates, and structured information to keep residents advised on daily concerns.
• Community Zoom Calls – Hosting informational sessions on key recovery topics, including home restoration, navigating financial relief programs, and engaging with government agencies such as the Army Corps of Engineers, SBA, and FEMA.

By combining digital platforms with in-person engagement, they successfully created a comprehensive and responsive communication system so residents received timely, accurate information with a sense of peace of mind, knowing they had and will continue to have a reliable source of support and advocacy throughout the recovery process.
