Community Partners projects Investing in Place, MoveLA, and Los Angeles Food Policy Council (in partnership with East LA Community Corporation (ELACC) and several other groups) are currently finalists in their respective categories in LA2050’s Activation Grants Challenge. This highly competitive grants program, which has gone to three Community Partners projects in 2014 and 2016, awards winning organizations $200,000 over two years to support their efforts in enriching Los Angeles’ future.
Investing in Place’s project will combine new data and new voices from women to influence policy and investments for a transportation system that will serve and strengthen the entire region. MoveLA’s effort will build a broad coalition to clean the city’s air of diesel toxins and greatly advance the fight against climate change. Lastly, LAFPC’s project will work to affect policy and public opinion in support of the city’s 50,000 street vendors that have such a strong cultural and economic impact on the city.
Be sure to cast your vote for Investing in Place in the “Connect” category, MoveLA in the “Live” category, and LAFPC in the “Create” category by June 29, here, and help these organizations make as much of an impact on the greater Los Angeles area as possible!
